December 28th, 2012 - The Floor, Stringer

I prepped the main stringer today, fixed end caps to it and added a 1-1/2 inch PVC pipe from the bow to the bilge. Next I glassed in the stringer and got it ready for the new floor. When dry, I foamed in the area with expandable foam.

  1. What exactly is the reason for the PVC pipe? Curious... I'm trying to restore and fix up my trimate 1... And your blog has great pics... Woulda been nice if there were more editorial to go with pics. Excellent work!

  2. I put the PVC in to drain any water from the front of the boat that may have gotten below the floor in front of the bulkhead. Sorry about so little narrative. If you have any further questions, please ask. I am a bit behind on my posts. The boat is in the water now and runs great. I will try to update it as soon as my busy life allows.

  3. I see... Sounds like a little measure I could add to my little project.
